App of the Week (11/8-11/14): sMOVE

It has been a LONG couple of weeks for us here at Badaforums. First, I want to apologize for not having an “App of the Week” last week but with all the server issues, I figured it would be best to wait for a fresh new week. Well, the time has come and this weeks honors go to “sMOVE“! This app has been a total team effort from the start. It was created by Stefan Thomas, the same person who made the sTunes software, sMirror and sLed. The graphics part of the app and preview video was developed by Roman Holzhause. In charge of testing, quality management, and ideas is Katrin Windszus. These developers participated in the 2010 Samsung’s Global Developer Challenge and as of right now, the application is currently slated to be released by the end of November 2010.

So far has gotten some pretty awesome marks by a few members.

I must say that after watching the preview for it, the application is absolutely stunning! The graphics and overall look and feel of the app is one of the best I have seen on Bada and really shows the true potential this OS has.  It can be used for many sports and other activities to help monitor your health and keep track of your progress. The app is based in particular on the measurement of speed, distance and direction by using GPS signal. It is able to display the calculation of your current calorie consumption and saves your data on your phone or SD card, which can be used in third party software like Google earth afterwards. You can also track your height, weight, and body mass index (BMI), average speed, active time, and so much more! The only information right now on pricing is according to the rules from the Global Developer Challenge, this app will be available for free for one month.

Of course, we will have much more coverage on the developments of this application and will keep you updated on its release date. Once it is released, we will have a full review so stay tuned!
