Samsung Announces the Wave II S8530!

Good morning everyone (well depending on if it is morning where you are) I have some great news for you! Samsung has announced what looks to be the successor to the original Samsung Wave, the Samsung Wave II S8530! The new device is the fifth smartphone Samsung brings to the market with its bada OS on board, following the launch of the Samsung Wave (S8500) last year, and that of Wave 2 (S5250), Wave 2 Pro (S5330) and Samsung Wave 723 this year.

Basically, the new Wave II is set to be the successor for the original Wave and have some very nice updated specs however, they are not that much of a difference but I think they are just enough to make people buy this phone.

Display:

The NEW Samsung Wave II S8530 comes with a bigger screen at 3.7 inches (up from 3.3-inches) and has a pixel resolution of 800×480. The display on the new device will be a Super clean LCD display which makes sense given Samsung’s recent shortage problem with AMOLED technology.

Under the hood specs:

The rest of the phone is much the same as the original which was almost perfect spec wise. The main problem with the original Wave was that the screen was too small so Samsung has fixed that. The new Wave II S8530 will still have a 1Ghz Hummingbird processor, 5-megapixel camera, and HD video recording.

Connectivity & Memory

In terms of connectivity, the new Wave II S8530 will have support out of the box for HSDPA, Wi-Fi 802.11n and Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity options, as well as with 3.5mm headphone jack. It will also have 2GB of internal memory complemented by a microSD memory card slot for additional storage space. The phone is powered by a 1500mAh battery.

Availibility & Pricing

The new Samsung Wave II is expected to arrive on the market in Germany sometime in November, featuring a price tag of 429 euros (around $590 USD).
