Ever since the Wave II was announced with a SLCD screen, there has been a lot of chatter over why Samsung went with SLCD and is it any better than SAMOLED. Personally, I have never seen an SLCD screen in person but according to the pictures above (from Engadget), the SLCD screen on the Wave II (left) looks sharper and “more natural” than the SAMOLED on the Galaxy S. That would make sense to me because SAMOLED screens have never been known for “accurate” color accuracy but more for vivid colors and over-the-top brightness. That being said, the SLCD screen does have a slight yellow hue to it and there were no test on how the screen would do in direct sunlight. The big drawback from what I have heard is the SLCD screens use a little more power than SAMOLED which given most smartphone’s problem with battery life would make the problem worse. Time will tell if the SLCD is better than SAMOLED but the one thing we can all agree on is both screen look great!

“…the SLCD screen on the Wave II (left) looks sharper and “more natural”…”
At least on the picture above, the left one is actually original Wave and on the right it’s the Wave II. Not the Wave II and Galaxy S…
Kenny, pls fix this
No
Wave II is on the left and Galaxy S is on the right.
Super Clear LCD is same as Super TFT (by Samsung). SLCD is another type of display (by Samsung and Sony)
