Jon Goes Hands-On with Wave 3

One of my favorite tech bloggers, Jon Rettinger of TechnoBuffalo, is at IFA and gave us this sneak peak at the Wave 3. Granted he hasn’t spent much time with bada as he is usually reviewing phones in the United States….he seems pretty impressed with the hardware and software of bada.

Samsung Announces 3 NEW Wave Smartphones!

Samsung has announced 3 new bada smartphones all running bada 2.0 ahead of the IFA show this week. First is the Samsung Wave 3 which is a very nicely spec’d phone with a 1.4 GHz processor and a SAMOLED display!! The Samsung M and Y Wave phones come in as mid-range and low-end devices but still have decent specs.

All three devices are going to be on display at IFA this week.

Samsung Wave 3 Specs

  • Bada 2.0
  • 4-inch Super AMOLED display
  • 1.4GHz processor
  • 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash
  • Front-facing VGA camera
  • Made of anodized aluminum
  • HSDPA at 14.4Mbps
  • HSUPA at 5.76Mbps
  • 1,500 mAh battery
  • Bluetooth 3.0
  • Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n

Samsung Wave M Specs

  • Bada 2.0
  • 3.65-inch HVGA TFT display (320 x 480)
  • 832MHz processor
  • NFC technology
  • 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash

Samsung Wave Y Specs

  • 2-megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash
  • 1,200 mAh battery

The Wave 3 obviously wins the prize for the most exciting device in the lineup, but with the addition NFC technology and a similar 5-megapixel camera, the Wave M looks like a fantastic runner-up. All three devices are set to launch this October.
