GPS time limit in bada 2.0 S8500

Postby wilq » Mon Feb 13, 2012 12:01 pm

I updated my S8500 with kies to 2.0 (XXKL6 XEO).
GPS works all right at the beginning. Locks very fast. But... After about 20 minutes of running GPS loggers the track is no longer continued. It seems like everything stops suddenly and no more data comes from gps module. In all cases GPS reception is good according to the application even if the track does not grow any more. The last speed remains the same (even if I stop!). Restarting the appliacation starts GPS again and allows another ca. 20 minute recording...
I used:
- Running free online (free app that I use very often)
- GPS Logger (paid app)
- sMove (free app)
- bada tracker
- some more application which I deleted and do not remenber

All the applications behave the same. Before upgrading I was able to record tracks for about 10 hours! The only limit was battery. Anyone can help and explain? Anyone having the same problems? I found one another on running free online forum.

indeed. Works great :)
However... I would like to know if it works at all under bada 2.0 official release. So once again the question is whether anybody with official bada 2.0 can download free application sMove, start the appliacation in recording log mode, then lock the screen. After about 20 minutes unlock the phone and check if distance is still growing up and speed is changing according to movement. Thanx in advance!

ok. But why doesn't it stop gps in bada 1.0 and 1.2??
Track logger (and there are plenty of it) is not for enjoying the amoled screen but for track saving while the device (phone) is in your pocket or back bag.
Many of track loggers features are "works while the phone is locked". Unfotunatelly no longer with bada 2.0....

Hi, I have the same problem with my S5380: the GPS stops to track when the screen is locked. Is there any FW to solve this problem?

Has anyone solved this issue? (of course apart of downgrading back to bada 1.2)
