Kies Troubleshooting and Help topic

Alright so it seems that people are having quite a few problems with Kies, so I thought that we should create a topic that of which contains information to possibly help the people whom may encounter our poor situations once again. Any advice and tech help will be copied from the post of the person and pasted here, or to prevent page stretching and a massive amount of information, I'll just add quicklinks to the post of the person if this board allows them.

Time to bring on the woes and how to help you with them:

1) Okay, my experience the past three days with Kies made me want to break a lot of things. The problem was that it would just bring up the loading screen with the animated popup with "Kies" and it would just maul my CPU driving it to the max limit. Left it on overnight with it loading just to make sure I wasn't being impatient and it still did not load. After re-installing and re-booting after each installation it still had the same problem. Though it did manage to work once, it would not detect the phone, what to do?!

Well, what I did was that I set Administrator privileges on it which sounded odd considering I have an admin account but that actually got it to start up multiple times without a hitch. (Only for Vista/Win 7)

Though it still wouldn't detect my phone even after applying a Kies update. What do I do?!

Well in this case, you have to have an administrator account on either XP/Vista/7 to do the following:

1) Right click on 'My computer' or 'Computer' (Depending which version of windows you use)

2) Go on Manage

3) A pop-up should come up with a list of items, at the very bottom there should be Universal Serial Bus Controllers or something along those lines for Vista/Win7. Click on it and you should see "Samsung Device" somewhere there, right click on it and go on 'Uninstall' and if possible remove all possible data of it.

4) Just unplug your Wave, plug it back in again and set it to "Kies" mode

5) Wait for connection to be established and use as normal!

I hope that this topic is found to be useful for many because I think that Kies is a bit buggy so having a long listed topic of possible technical solutions would be for the best!

Anyone resolved this issue - Mainstage - Stopped responding and was closed
i just cant seem to get the Kies software to run , it hangs ( phone connected/disconnected/admin mode/compatibility mode) , Uninstalled and Reinstalled Different versions. No Luck

This is the most Crappy Software I've ever seen for a Phone. Plz help finding a resolution.

Howdy Hardeep,

Yep. I have that same problem. Is it just you & me? What was more annoying, i couldn't even uninstall it!Not even deleting the program folder. Eventually i reinstalled it THEN uninstall it again.

Now the odd thing is i manage to install it fine at my (XP) PC at work! The only difference i could think off, is my home (XP) PC i selected UK English and for work PC,US English. Yet i can't access the Samsung Apps because my country, (presumably my beloved Malaysia) do not have access. Yet ( listen to this) i can connect my Samsung Apps with my home Wifi, purchased software & all.1

Surely it cannot be something as stupid at that. Please Mr Samsung, you've made a good splash so far with Wave, don't get mud thrown in your face.

@zoolkifli - Check if you have .NET installed along with Active Sync.. apparently they are required for KIES to work.

Windows Media Player 10 or later
ActiveSync(Windows XP), Device Center (Windows Vista)
DirectX 9.0C

.Net Framework 3.5 is required for Windows XP(32/64bit), Vista(32/64bit) to install Samsung Kies.

Kies also works on my office pc which has XP SP3 Installed , but it refuses to run on my Home PC.
I've Tried the Installers from UK/US/India ... all end up with the same issue.
Kies does not go beyond the Home Screen , it freezes and does not respond to anything.

Samsung needs to feed KIES some !!

I had Win XP Sp2 and cannot install Kies. I always have same error message: cannot access to file server.
After tried different solution and result was always "nothing"...
Before 2 day ago, I have new installation of Xp SP3 on my HP laptop, and nothing is changed. Kies report me the same problem.
Is there any chance to install this software?
I have Samsung Wave and I need some software for it.

Grrrrrr....this software is very annoying. I can't even install it. I downloaded the file from samsung pages and started the installation. I get to step 4, the process starts and gets to 1%. After about 2 mins i get an error message saying "installation aborted". I have windows 7 btw.

Any help will be much appreciated!

"A-store cannot be run. Please try again later"

please help me ...from a week ago whenever i connect my wave533 with kies n go in samsung app n download a app but when i try to click on install it appears no device is connected ..but device is connected n kies shows it but not install a app....please rep .how i fix it
