playing video on samsung wave

I am trying to play video of format avi and mkv. When i play avi format it shows error " unsupported file". When i play mkv file, it shows "unsupported codec". Please help

From the samsung site about the supported video formats: DivX , Xvid, MPEG4, Real, WMV
I haven't tried playing video on mine yet, but I guess you should try another format.

hmm , it plays mkv also , i tested it on my phone

mkv is just a container for other formats, if my knownledge is correct. So could be that you have an mkv with an unsupported video format inside.

T.O.M is right. Gopal, get an mkv from valid sources. Should work on wave. Mine does. AVI, MKV and MP4 all work. Too bad Wave doesn't support ogg. That would have finished the package.

Yes ive got a full 2hrs+ plus mkv movie on mine and it plays beautifully. However, my MPEG4 & WMV (both downloaded & converted from Youtube in Firefox does not seemed to play.

Any ideas anyone? Is there some type of MPEG4 & WMV(get the sound but not the visual) that i should be aware off that should play and some not?

Why not try looking for a true MPEG file and see if it plays? I mean, one that isn't converted and such because them your converter may be doing it wrong then.

Nop, not only, without that I didn't have the possibility to watch DivX/Xvid video files. It's a long process (go to Divx website, download the player, activate the Wave thru the app, download a special avi file, put it on your Wave, open it on your Wave player... Done, pfew!)
