Reset is not necessary that globe icon means internet or packet data is being used i have also upgraded by firmware version on my wave533 and it is also displaying the same image when ever i use my packet data...
but my wave533 doesn't display that image all the time... it is only displayed when ever i use java application such as ebuddy or opera mini.

Guys when you Post your Reply! Please see everything and then then reply! And dont for commenting sake type something! If you guys look closely! In the second image you can see the globe icon even when he is connected to pc! That is not Normal! I agree that it is a GPRS icon but it should not be displayed when in kies mode or when viewing a picture! The Best option is Resetting!

Yesterday i have updated my firmware using kies,, i have successfully installled, but i hav some problem, i found a globe icon on top left corner of my phone besides "E" icon, i dont know why it has came and how to remove it........so pls suggest me what it is and how to remove it

That symbol i think is saying that the WAVE is being used like a USB modem
Check ur USB utilities

For the last time iam asking you! Did you try resetting? Because you seem to ignore my posts or you dont understand them i think!

Solve my problem yaar

its bit abnormal in your case,
in my case, it appears when i use java, then after closing it , sometimes it stays, sometimes not, so re-starting solves it, but i don't bother about any icon there..... it only notifies that data is transeferring in java mode, and when java dont use net, even if it is running, it disappears.,

but it strange in your case and annoying,

1) try different theme.,
if changing theme not works, explore .smt file , andd if there any that icon's file? there probably should not be ,, hehehe but just check, if there is, just delete and use it,.

2) i advice you to delete the gprs profiles >> setting >> connectivity >> deactivate "use packet data .." now ..... network>>connections>>yes>> ... >> delete >> enter password >> select all >> delete them.....
now restart phone, now see if it solved,
further go to same screen where you were at delete screen, choose restore,
...............................
3) restore : setting >> reset ... and reset all, please keep back up as it will delete data....

-- filnally try hard reset,
keep ur batery full charge .. as u type *2767*3855# , it will go and delete everything on you phone, slide out ur MMC before experimenting and MUST DELET ALL JAVA AND INSTALLED THINGS before making changes.//
