3D Compass and GPS : Application Review

When you are lost in the jungles of Amazon, you know you are so screwed. There is no way you’re getting out without any help unless you are Bear Grylls. You have lost all the sense of direction. All the places you go will look just like the places you left. You end up going in circles. Smart people will try to climb a tree to survey the area and devise a plan of action but when they are climbing down, they often tend to loose a limb or two or three or maybe four. Smarter still people ( the fat ones actually who cant climb trees ) will use their smartphones to do the work instead. It’s become very essential that you carry a compass with you at all times. But who heeds the advice ? Carrying a cellphone has become more important than carrying a compass. Facebook is more important you guys! It hasnt been long since manufacturers integrated compass into your cellphones to avoid you the trouble of packing the little bronze gift you got while you were 8.

People say that in places such as Amazon, your life depends on your choices. But to make choices, will you trust your mind or your heart ? The answer is neither, coz if you do trust your mind or heart, you are going to end up in the anacondas belly! To avoid such gruesome ends to our pathetic lives,Vladimir Ten has developed a neat little app. It’s called 3D Compass and GPS. Wow!….that sounds awesome. 3D!!! I mean do you really need 3D compass to get yourself out ? 3D ? With insects laying eggs in your skin ? NO, but its a lot fun getting out of the forest this way. The application is more of a fashion than a function, but my god it looks pretty!

Theme Review: Honeycomb Pro (by: prokshit)

Do you find yourself loving bada but also wanting some Honeycomb goodness? If so, this is the theme for you! I was browsing the Samsung Wave theme section and came across what of the best looking themes I have seen in a long time. Designed by forum member and donor, prokshit, this theme is a great example of what a bada theme should be. It is clean, simple, not over-the-top, and works very well!

The design of the theme is very much like Honeycomb….from the clock widget, to the background and even the wallpaper…the developer did a fine job with this. As I stated earlier, the theme comes with some widgets (digital and analog clock, app carousel) that just make the theme that much better.

As far as function is concerned, some users stated that the app carousel was not working properly but that is being worked on it seems according to the forum. Otherwise, all the widgets work very well, the theme is smooth and refined, and the will work great on the Wave.

Overall, the design of this theme, the widgets, and even the little details like the battery indicator are amazing and with smooth functionality…this theme is a WINNER!!

App of the Week is back! Taking Requests Now!

It has been awhile since I wrote an App of the Week article and to be honest, I felt like the feature was getting stale and needed some rethinking on my part. Since it is one of the most popular features here at badaforums, I thought it would be nice to re-start the feature and kind of give it a streamlined look and to have it be based off of user requests.

From now on, the App of the Week feature will post on Mondays and will stay up till the following Sunday. Also, the App of the Week will not only be limited to reviews but also previews of new apps coming up for bada.

The articles will be broken down into four sections: developer or company information, design, user experience (or features if it is a preview of an app), and final impressions. Each article will have screenshots, app information, and a link to download it and find out additional information.

The next cool thing I will be doing with “App of the Week” is that it will be based off of user requests. What app would you like to see reviewed? Are you a developer who wants to gain some exposure for your app? Or have you heard of a really cool app that is being developed and want someone to preview it? Send us a request for app of the week and we might pick it!

All you have to do is send a request via the contact page OR reply to the thread in the forums. The only information we require is you give us the name of the app and a link to the download page. We will do the rest! Thanks so much and we look forward to seeing your requests!
