MasterCard Certifies A Bunch of NFC Phones, Wave Y

MasterCard Worldwide has announced several near field communications (NFC) enabled smartphones have been certified for use with MasterCard PayPass technology, providing consumers with devices capable of making fast, secure contactless payments at hundreds of thousands of PayPass merchant locations around the globe. The new MasterCard-certified devices include the BlackBerry Bold 9900 / 9790 and BlackBerry Curve 9360 / 9380, HTC One X, Intel Smartphone Reference Device, LG Viper 4G LTE, LG Optimus Elite, Nokia 603, Nokia Lumia 610 NFC, Samsung Wave Y, Samsung Galaxy mini 2, Samsung Galaxy S Advance, Samsung Galaxy Nexus (GT-i9250), Sony Xperia S, Sony Xperia P and Sony Xperia sola.

“In the near future, millions of phones will ship with NFC technology embedded within them. The new PayPass Ready identifier will help consumers make informed device purchasing decisions by providing a visual mark that indicates devices are certified to make simple, smart and secure payments via the MasterCard PayPass network,” said Mung Ki Woo, Group Executive, Mobile at MasterCard.

North American carrier Sprint joins Tizen Association

Sprint announced today that is joinging the Tizen Association, a group focused on both the marketing and education of the Tizen platform in the industry and helping to develop its presence in the market. With that announcement, Sprint has become the first North American carrier to join the Association. Along with the announcement, they also announced that Fared Adib, vice president of product development at Sprint, will be joining the Tizen board of directors. Other carriers already in the Tizen Association are NTT DOCOMO, Orange, SK telecom, Telefónica and Vodafone. In my opinion, it is interesting that Sprint is becoming part of the Tizen Association. Navmii India Navigation-Coming Soon

Bada has very limited number of Navigation application in Samsung app store and most of those Applications are not very useful for Navigation purpose. So, I decided to ask “Navmii” whether they are interested in creating Navigation application for Bada –India.

As you all know, Navmii/Navfree navigation application is already available for Bada but for few countries such as France, Switzerland, Spain etc. So, I asked them whether they have any plan for Navmii application for Indian Users and I got following Positive Response :-

So, according to their Response, Navmii application for India is in pipeline but they can’t provide Time-frame for the arrival of the Application. That means, we can expect Navmii application for Indian Wave users but, application release date (Time-frame) is not yet decided.
