Written By: badasamsung on Sat Jun 12, 2010

So now you know what Samsung Bada is. It is a new mobile OS for smart phones. With this basic knowledge can you set out to develop some bada apps? Wouldn’t it be cool if you could develop your own apps? Besides Samsung has introduced bada developers challenge which gives lots of rewards for good developers. For instance they are giving out new Wave phones for 300 contestants who pass the simulation rounds. The total prize are worth $ 2,700,000 (USD) and the champion will be awarded $ 300,000 (USD). If your bada app makes it the finals, your app will featured in bada store. So why now try it? Before starting out to the quest of being the top bada developer there are some things you need to know, besides knowing what bada is.

Anyone can be a bada developer, at least in theory. For those with at least a slight developing history, it is a good place to be in. But if you have no idea how to develop a software, you need to do some homework before entering this arena. First you need to know how to develop a software. So you need to know what SDK and IDE stands for. SDK means software development kit. According to Wikipedia, it is typically a set of development tools that allows for the creation of applications for a certain software package, software framework, hardware platform, computer system, video game console, operating system, or similar platform. For starters, it means that it has the required files to develop the software. So now what is IDE? It is integrated development environment. It is required to debug and test the developed software. So now you know what SDK and IDE is, the obvious question is where to get it. This part is easy since you can get from bada developers site ( http://developers.bada.com). But first you need to join the site, which is free. There are two modes, basic and partner. You are automatically logged to basic when you first register. You can download the development tools from the site. To find out each step in the developing after getting your hands on the tools, you can refer to the tutorials given in the site. You must know that the information given here are basic and to know more you should need to do the practicals. After developing your app, you can test in simulation. Then you can send it to the simulation test and hopefully win that Wave phone. So why not try being a bada developer?
