Unless you live under a rock, I am sure you have heard of the iPhone’s “death grip” issue and the responses given regarding it. Well, things have heated up again after comments made by Apple CEO, Steve Jobs regarding other companies like Samsung, HTC, and RIM at “Antennagate” last week. Steve Jobs specifically mentioned the Samsung Omnia II, along with devices from other manufacturers. Those companies have already vehemently denied the “Mommy, Patrick does it too” argument. Today, we have learned that Samsung has joined the list of companies that have fired back at Apple by basically saying, “It’s not me, honey, it’s YOU Apple”! According to Shin Young-joon, a Samsung spokesperson,
“The antenna is located at the bottom of the Omnia 2 phone, while iPhone’s antenna is on the lower left side of the device. Our design keeps the distance between a hand and an antenna. We have fully conducted field tests before the rollout of smartphones. Reception problems have not happened so far, and there is no room for such problems to happen in the future.”
This should add fuel to an already hot fire for sure. I am sure that we all have opinions of Steve Jobs and Apple but since this is a Samsung Bada site, I want to hear from YOU! Do you have any problems with signal when you hold a phone in your left hand? Can you hold it any way you want and still have good signal?
