4 New Bada Phones?!

Posted by soraxd >> 4 brand new Bada phones!

At an event in St. Petersburg, Samsung showed a slide that displayed how upcoming Bada phones will be positioned relative to the Samsung S8500 Wave in terms of price (and features) – a sly way to tease us. There are four phones shown besides the Wave, all of them cheaper and all of them with Bada OS. Two are touch screen bars and two have slideout QWERTY keyboards (with touchscreens too, of course). There’s nothing else about the phones but here’s how they look:

The quartet of new Bada phones is priced below 20,000 rubles (685 US dollars, 510 euro), the cheapest of the bunch is somewhere around 10,000 rubles (about 340 US dollars or 255 euro), maybe even lower (the slide isn’t very precise)

It should be noted that Bada is not a smartphone operating system according to Samsung representatives at MWC, as the manufacturer is treating Bada as an evolution of its own internal embedded operating system with modern features.

Samsung Plans to Sell 10 Million Units?!

With a lot of expectations already in line for their prized handset, Samsung is setting the bar really high and giving off that optimistic feel in achieving sales of approximately 10 million units for the Samsung Wave. Official pricing has not been announced but it’s rumored to be somewhere around $610. Supplementing the expected worldwide sales, Samsung is targeting roughly around 1,000 Bada apps that should be available by the end of the year. With a goal on 10 million units, that’s a pretty high expectation being given to this handset already – but it’s not to say that it’s impossible. If Samsung can muster enough demand for the Samsung Wave, its target goal may not be too far fetched considering that it’ll be available in over 50 countries by May.
