Samsung Wave

So you have used your brand new Samsung Wave for some time now. You are beginning to think if there is anything more to this phone. You try every setting you see if you can tweak it even better. But sometimes there is more than that meets the eye. That is why I have have compiled this list of advanced settings for those who want more with their phone.
Disclaimer: These settings are for advanced users only. Try these under your own risk.
1. Service Mode
You can use service mode to change many settings and to run tests. All you need to enter is *#197328640# . Please make sure that you use this menu with care.
2. Battery mode
Use *#0228# enter into battery mode that will supply you with battery information.
3. Factory Format
You can use *2767*3855# completely reset the phone. It’ll remove all files and settings including the internal memory storage. It’ll also reinstall the phone firmware. So be careful before trying this out.
3. Sim and Network lock settings
Using this setting you can check the status about sim lock and network lock. Use *#7465625# for this.
4. Codes to get Firmware version information:
SW Version, HW Version, MP, RF Cal Date, CSC Version, CSC Model Spec, FFS Version, RC2 Version – *#4986*2650468#
SW Version and CSC Version – *#1234#
FTA SW Version – *#1111#
FTA HW Version – *#2222#
5. Wi-Fi & Bluetooth Test Codes:
Wi-Fi Manual MFG Test Mode – *#526#
BT RF Test Mode - *#232337#
6. Codes to launch various Factory Tests:
LCD test – *#0*#
Melody test – *#0673# OR *#0289#
Vibration test – *#0842#
TM Command – *#2663# OR *#2664#
These are some of the hidden secrets that you can find on your Samsung Wave. There may be many more!

Press Menu key+Lockkey to take a screen shot
This is a good trick (though not exactly hidden). I forgot to mention this though I have already tweeted about this. Thanks for reminding me.:)

Very useful I’ll be sure to refer to it at times!
If you are phone is in lock state and u get some missed calls and messages
just slightly press the lock key u can see the mazed wallpaper having 2 different shapes (green/red) which are displayed from their orginal position just drag it and dorp it to their natural position, it will open u r message directly!
Here goes one more:
In your key pad, long press on EN key, you will get few more options to get customize u r keypad, and I love the following
1. Predective text
2. Writing full screen/Writing Box
one more for all of u
press menu key twice it will directly take u to the smart search for phone and internet!! this is a handy one I use it often to search in google

In menu or idle mode, press the call button to bring up the call log. Then point to a contact and slide to the right to call them or to the left to SMS.
That last one works on phonebook too and is really useful.

Hey guys,
I have a problem with low volume while playing videos and on voice calls. Could you please post a quick/easy tutorial how to increase the volume in the service menu as the max. volume of the unit is too low for me. This problem is only for videos/voice calls with a headset, not for music, then the volume is very good. Thanks for help!
PS: I tried to play with the setup in the service menu but it seems that the volume part of the menu allows me to enter only single digits for some reason when I edit the db gain.

when in volume mode forexample mp volume you get numbers 1 to 6 with numbers in brackets and read on top screen hit 1 screen goes to write tap white text box twice and a keyboard pops up enable you to enter 3 digit number then just done and done

Hey is there a hard reset on the wave my screen freezes on start up i cant input the codes to restart it any help guys please thx

u gave us the codes wave, i am wondering that if u have a code for testing the gps receiver of the wave…i m owning wave for more then 3 months and i have not got a gps lock till, yet i have tried evry setting wt soevr…is dere a problem in mah wave???surely looking forward to ur reply…

Can´t use the codes because my phone freezes at starting screen.
Is there any button Combo or hidden code i can use to Hard RESET the phone without being able to enter the software?

Most of us unlock our phones by single pressing the side lock button & swiping the screen..
U can also unlock by just long pressing the Lock Button!!!
No need to move ur fingers twice just to unlock the phone!!
