Written by Kenny Linn on August 31, 2010

This is exciting news for all Bada users! Samsung has announced the next phone in the Bada lineup – the Samsung Wave 723. The Wave 723 will have Samsung’s Super AMOLED display for a 3.2-inch TFT LCD screeen. It will also have wifi and a 5megapixel auto-focus camera with LED flash. The phone will run Bada OS 1.1, which also adds UI auto-scaling. This means Samsung is prepping developers to make sure their Bada apps work seamlessly across devices of different resolutions. No word on pricing, dates, or regional availability at this point, but you can sure that when we hear more information, we will pass it along to everyone!

**UPDATE** (Thanks to Forum member “Kingkij” for providing more information)

The 723’s SAMOLED screen will have a resolution of 240×400 pixels and will be made of tempered glass with smudge resistance technology and an application-centric interface.

Other features include: a 3.5mm audio jack, 90MB of storage (expandable through a microSD card slot) and a built-in GPS receiver. The Samsung S7230E Wave 723 will support quad-band 2G and dual-band 3G as well as 802.11n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 3.0.

The Wave 723 is quite thin (measuring only 109.5 x 53.9 x 11.8 mm) and has sleek metal back cover. But while this is something many devices would be able to offer you, there is one thing only a few phones have – a unique leather flip cover protecting the display when the phone is not in use.

Written by Rison Simon on August 20, 2010

South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics released in late 2009 its first mobile operating system, called bada, and has recently made available the final version of its bada Software Development Kit (SDK).

The new bada SDK 1.0.0 was released recently with some changes from the previous version, including support for more languages than the bada SDK beta 3 came with.

The new bada Software Development Kit (SDK) offers developers the possibility to take advantage of languages like Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, and Turkish.

Another important change in the new release is the addition of RTL (remote test laboratory), the development team notes.

“[RTL] is a new service that enables you to test your applications on the devices at a remote site. It allows you to test your application without your own device. RTL is not stable yet, and supports few languages on the remote devices, because RTL in this release is the beta version,” the change-log reads.

Other changes were also included in the new release, such as the possibility to use ColorPicker, EditDate, and EditTime controls in the UI Builder.

The release notes of bada SDK 1.0.0 also show:

Osp::Content

· RemoteAdvancedSearch, RemoteAdvancedSearchResult, and IRemoteAdvancedSearchListener are deprecated.

Osp::Location

· The privilege level of the REMOTE_LOCATION and REMOTE_LANDMARK privilege groups is changed from SYSTEM to NORMAL.

Osp::Social

· The privilege level of the BUDDY_SERVICE, MESSAGING_SERVICE, PRIVACY_SERVICE, PROFILE_SERVICE and SNS_SERVICE privilege groups is changed from SYSTEM to NORMAL.
